Wednesday 03: Henry Rollins
Forget Bon Jovi. Henry Rollins has seen a million faces and rocked them all. The 49-year-old musician and human rights activist can’t sit still for too long, as he often travels the globe to stay socially aware and to inspire and inform a new generation through his songs. Last week, the former Black Flag frontman talked to City Link’s John Thomason about being “informationally malnourished” in America, yelling future song lyrics in random slums and what he finds amusing about Sarah Palin.

Thursday 04: Train
It’s hard to believe it’s been nine years since “Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)” made the No. 5 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. The song continues to get regular airplay on local radio stations such as the Coast [WFLC-FM, 97.3]. The band went on hiatus in 2006 and returned this past October with Save Me, San Francisco. Train now offers a happy-go-lucky ukulele sound similar to what Jason Mraz has been pumping out. It’s especially evident on Train’s latest finger-snapping single, “Hey, Soul Sister.” Rock act Butch Walker and the Black Widows will open.
Location: Revolution Live, 200 W. Broward Blvd., Fort Lauderdale
Time: 8 p.m.
Cost: $27

Saturday 06: 107.9 WIRK Rib Round Up
Just when we thought we’d have to wait until next January for some 99.9 Kiss Chili Cookoff-type action, the radio station’s competition came up with its own music festival. Aside from providing plenty of ribs to gnaw on, the Rib Round Up will host a bevy of country acts, including “Eight Second Ride” singer Jake Owen, and Darryl Worley, who had a No. 1 single on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs with “Awful, Beautiful Life.” Former Marine and American Idol contestant Josh Gracin will hit the stage along with Josh Thompson, Billy Currington, Luke Bryan, Jaron and the Long Road to Love, and Tom Jackson.
Location: Cruzan Amphitheatre, 601-7 Sansbury’s Way, West Palm Beach
Time: 12:30 p.m.
Cost: $20

Friday 05-Sunday 07: Miami Made Weekend’s Here and Now: 2010

Go green with the Miami Light Project’s Here and Now collaboration as it features the work of up-and-coming South Florida artists in various media with environmental messages. Program A will feature B-boy Rudi Goblen’s interpretive dance Fare Welling and three performers pedaling stationary bicycles to power a bank of moving lights. Program B offers a more lighthearted level of entertainment, with Jillian Mayer’s musical parody Mrs. Ms, which concerns a woman so caught up in a fairy-tale love life she fails to appreciate herself. Explore a sustainable model city by Vanessa Garcia and take in some poetry on the survival of the fittest. Visit Arshtcenter.org for discussion panel times.

Monday 08: Jeff Garlin
Meeting Jeff Garlin sounds pretty, pretty, pretty good. The comedian who plays Larry David’s sidekick on Curb Your Enthusiasm will discuss and autograph his new book, My Footprint: Carrying the Weight of the World. In it, Garlin recounts his attempts to lose weight and go green while filming a season of his hit HBO show. We can’t help but wonder if Garlin’s TV wife, Susie, inspired this book. She often refers to Garlin’s character as “You fat fuck.”
Location: Books and Books, 265 Aragon Ave., Coral Gables
Time: 8 p.m.
Cost: The reading is free, but the book costs $25.
